The past couple of days have been fun. And by fun I mean stressful. We had quite the storm yesterday (thanks to a passing typhoon, I guess) that not only flooded a number of locations (thank god I'm on the 10th floor) but also caused a power outage at work. Finally, half the power came on at work. Unfortunately, it was not my half. I had managed to transfer some of the work that needed doing to one of our web storage services, so I left early to get things done from home with in intention of arriving early the next day to finish what I couldn't do from afar.
After waking up an hour after I had intended and booking it to work, I got in to find the power had returned to my desk, but not to our network. Turns out the outage had fried the power source for the server room. Some finagling later and we had power back there too. While I could now access the files I needed, something was broken on our database program that would have allowed me to easily search for the files I needed. *le sigh*
Jikoshia has become a personal escape/release for me after days like these. I'm happy to say that I not only completed today's page, but thoroughly enjoyed doing it.
