Katsucon!
Posted by thealmightym
I get to attend Katsucon this weekend. Not tabling (I got wait-listed again), but I'd rather be an attendee than not at all! I'll be passing out some bookmarks, so keep an eye out if you're going!

Sorry for the Wait...

Hi! Tsi here! I was late doing the coloring due to another 50+ hour week and me and my husband's tenth anniversary of going out. But I got the page done, and I hope you like it! ^^

THAT Relative...
Posted by thealmightym
Yup, Nifty's great grandfather was not only considered kinda crazy, but also kinda pervy. But also good at art. Makes for some awkward family moments.
This weekend is the first WEB ReeF event. It's a sort of digital convention complete with live panels, Q&A sessions, and even an Artist Alley in the forums. It actually started Friday, but I was busy with my day job, so I didn't get to participate too much. The Fantasy Webcomic panel was pretty neat though. Since it was kind of a last minute replacement for the canceled Digicon, the site is kinda slow. Given that they only had a couple days to put this together, I'd say they've done pretty well with what they had. Looking forward to tomorrow! Check it out! WEB ReeF
Also, as I type this, I'm up significantly later than normal. Forgive any loopiness detected in this post.
Because I do feel pretty loopy, woooOOOoooOOOOooo....

A Sweet Deal
Posted by thealmightym
Just 4 days into the CCF Fundraiser and already they've almost hit $4000 in donations! You guys are AWESOME!
A number of other creators are offering rewards for donations (i.e. books and sketches), so I thought I might give it a shot too. Any donation over $20 will be able to request a sketch from me. Just forward a copy of your receipt to thealmightym@waywardstudios.net. Thanks again for all your help!

A Good Cause

So, some of you may have heard of a project called "Comic Creators for Freedom," a group of webcomic artists you get together to end human trafficking. This year, both Tsi and I are participating by contributing characters to the donation wallpaper. I just donated to get mine and it looks fantastic! Just a $5 donation will get you this awesome wallpaper featuring Nifty and 123 other webcomic characters!

Serious Business
Posted by thealmightym
I'm taking a cue from Mookie over at Dominic Deegan and pleading with everyone who comes across this site to take a moment to sign petitions, email or call Congress, etc to stop the SOPA bill. I first learned about this bill several weeks ago and it is simply appalling. Never heard of it? Unclear on what this means for the internet? Here, have a video: WTF is SOPA? (aka the American government trying to ruin the internet)
How about an article? How SOPA Could Ruin My Life
And another: SOPA and Everyday Americans
See what I mean? I urge you all to do what you can to stop this bill. You can sign the petition to veto the bill here and this site has a form letter to email Congress (or better yet, call them). Thanks!

Cards!
Posted by thealmightym
Just an update on the cards I'll be sending out this year. I finished the design and placed the order for them so if you want one, now's the time to say so! See the card for yourself here Remember, these are FREE!

Tis the season
Posted by thealmightym
Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving! I've been busy finalizing things for Tigercon this weekend (hence the lack of update), but that doesn't mean I haven't been hard at work playing Skyrim on the comic. Should at least have some flats for you guys this weekend.
You may have noticed a section for comments on the archived pages. I'm excited to hear what you all have to say about the comic, so feel free to post something!
One final note, I'm putting together holiday cards again this year. If you want one, just shoot me an email with a mailing address. Cards are free, but if you order a comic before Xmas, I'll be more than happy to slip one in your package as well (and maybe a little something extra depending on how Tigercon goes).

It's all MY fault, you know....
Posted by Plotholetsi
I took the liberty of updating for Em, since she's super duper busy... well, so am I, who isn't, right? Anyhow, the delays are due to 30characters competition stealing both our lives, Thanksgiving approaching, and because I had a hard time deciding how to approach this immensely important page once Em handed me the flats.
In conclusion, all your problems are due to me. Plothole Tsi. Mwahaha.

New RSS and #30Characters
Posted by thealmightym
No update this weekend, guys. This week has been a hectic one.
I'm switching up the way I do my RSS feeds. The site I was using to help automate the process frequently decides that I don't update often enough for it to care, so I'm ditching it. Subscribe to the new feed at the top of the page.
As you may or may not know, I'm participating in the 30 Characters in 30 Days challenge (as is Tsi, for that matter). This is the challenge's third and biggest year with over 700 participants ranging from new artists to seasoned comic vets. I've posted 3 character so far created for a side project I've been trying to work on. You can follow my progress here and Tsi's progress here. Don't forget to check out all the other new characters people have been making too!
That's it for today. Look forward to a new page next time!

Happy Halloween! Have a Treat!
Posted by thealmightym
Happy Halloween, folks! Thank you guys for your patience during this turbulent time for Wayward Studios. Tsi finally is back up and running and I'm starting to put things together for Tigercon in December. As a big thank you, I've officially posted the print version of Chapter One earlier than planned. Hope you all like it as much as we do!
That being said, I'll have Chapter One available at Tigercon as well as other goodies I'm putting together as we speak. I'll also try and have some copies of Aspect for sale. So excited to be getting my own copy of it soon!

Technical Issues
Posted by thealmightym
First things first, as I said in my previous post, Bellingham Comic Con is this weekend. Stop by and say hi!
As for the page delays, it's all Tsi's fault. Or rather, it's all Tsi's computer's fault. A computer failure has led to a lack of progress on comic creation so there's no new page until she can get it back up and running again. Sorry about all this! Here are the flat colors for the next page.

Bellingham!
Posted by thealmightym
Apologizes for the late post, gang. I got the page to Tsi later than I meant to. Regardless, the page is here now and another one is in the works. Woo!
I've added a page to the Wayward Studios network: my 24 hour comic now has a more permanent home for those who don't like the G+ photo environment. Still need to add some kind of link to it somewhere, but for now just go to this link
And finally, more convention news! Tsi will be at Bellingham Comic Con on Saturday, October 22nd. If you're in the area, definitely stop by! She'll have copies of Aspect, Jikoshia, as well as prints and possibly some other goodies. Check it out!

Happy 24 Hour Comics Day!
Posted by thealmightym
Huzzah, new page! I forgot to mention that, after some discussion with Tsi, she has offered to help post the new pages on Saturdays until I get this issue fixed. Saturday updates are go!
For those interested, today is 24 Hour Comics Day. I've participated once before (on my own time since I had missed the official day) and I highly recommend it to ANYONE interested in comic creation. Unfortunately, my Saturday is partially booked, but I'm still going to try and pump out a complete comic. By the time you read this, I'll have already gotten an early start on Friday so that my evening will be free.
I hope many of you give it a go. It's a phenominal exercise. There are even groups who set up events around the country for it (see the official site to find one near you). Good luck and shoot me a message with what you come up with!

Change of Plans
Posted by thealmightym
This newest page has be the most difficult page to work on guys, I'm so so sorry for the delay... But I'm happy to say it's finished (on my end). It won't be up until Tuesday though for a couple of reasons:
1) It took me so long to get it done, that Tsi won't be able to finish it before midnight unless I somehow inject her with enough adrenaline to fuel a time traveling DeLorean.
2) I STILL can't seem to log in from my apartment. I've done everything I can think of to solve the problem. Until a miracle occurs, I have to either upload files from outside locations (i.e. my dayjob or the library) or find a new means of scheduling updates. If anyone has ever had this problem with btphp, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE contact me!
So, what this means for the comic is that until the problem is solved, I'm going to have to change my update schedule. Beginning with the next update, I'll be moving my new schedule to Tuesdays. I figure there aren't enough comics that update on Tuesday, so let's fill the gap, shall we?
Moving on, how about that SPX?
That was the most fun I've ever had at a convention! Thanks to everyone who showed up and more thanks to the people who dropped by to say hi and even MORE thanks to the people who bought the new Chapter One. I'm looking forward to being back next year with so much more to offer!
Things are looking good for another upcoming convention. I'm planning on signing up for PIX next month in Pittsburgh, essentially a newer, smaller version of SPX. If anyone is in the area for it, you should totally stop by. It's got free admission after all!
Thanks again for your patience with this chapter, guys. I promise things will be back to normal soon.
